Venus 2 is an electric duo that loves to perform and entertain! The duo, Diane and Bruce Black, (along with their unpaid drummer, bass, and keyboard players who remain hidden in a little box throughout the night) have been in the music industry for some years now in previous rock bands throughout NSW and through their relationship formed Venus 2, which has been a full time working duo since 2005 earning their living from music & the arts entirely.

Venus 2 is now based in Newcastle and previously travelled throughout the state from Sydney to West Wyalong and Ulladulla to Ballina, to entertain crowds of all ages! They have had an extraordinary reception at every venue they have performed and have been complimented in most venues by the demand for CDs of their music.

The music covered is a selection of retro classic material blending from rock, pop, disco, country, and soft rock material that has earned itself a nostalgic reputation that everybody is familiar with. Songs from Status Quo, Zac Brown Band, Mellencamp, Tina Turner, Barnsey, CCR, Pink, Shania Twain, Abba, Daddy Cool, Hush, ACDC, Dragon, Rolling Stones and so many more that get the crowd on the dance floor. Diane’s extraordinary vocal ranges compliment every song she sings and Bruce’s guitar work filling in the familiar or creative licks of each, or the excitement of guitar in the rock hits.

The artists are always interacting with the crowds and throw in a bit of tongue in cheek humour at their music at times to catch a couple of laughs. They say, the best kick out of performing is getting the crowd up on the dance floor and watching them enjoy the music they supply. The pair were finalists in the 2005 ABC Music Awards with their original song, “Fairy Tale”. The track has been receiving airplay since its release and is still available. In 2012, they completed 4 original tracks that proved to be extremely popular in many states of the USA and have been released on I-tunes and CD.
