About GOLDHEIST

Where words fail, music speaks – a mantra which is encapsulated in the work
of GOLDHEIST who recently performed for VIVID 2018, following the release
her new concept album REALM at the Sydney Opera House in September 2017.
Visually and sonically arresting, flower crowned crooner GOLDHEIST has been likened to Kate Bush, Florence & The Machine, and Ellie Goulding, bringing her songs and stories to stages across regional and metropolitan Australia.
Educated at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, her creative ethos reflects a strong social conscience. Her debut release, Dust, raised funds and awareness for drought relief, a campaign for which she toured regional NSW.
In 2015, following the death of her grandfather, the late Right Honourable Malcolm Fraser, GOLDHEIST released The Camellia Tree, a musical tribute to his life and legacy, in support of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Her latest single, You Were There, won the NSW division of the Listen Up Australia Songwriting Competition, in support of Suicide Prevention Australia.  2018 will be a year of collaborative projects for GOLDHEIST. Following her performance for VIVID 2018 at the Art Gallery of NSW, for which she worked with Auslan sign-language interpreters to make her music accessible to the Deaf Community, GOLDHEIST is touring with artist James Needham for a new performance piece REALM: Art and Music. Combining their respective artistic practices, Needham will paint landscape, as inspired by tour locations, whilst GOLDHEIST provides the soundtrack, fusing her narrative songs with electro-acoustic soundscape. Simultaneously curated and improvisational, this spatially motivated 1hr performance will explore the spirit of place, and the different ways our surrounds can inspire and impact us.
